The recent conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter this past December of 2020 provoked me to dig deeper. (See “2020 Christmas Star” & the Great Planetary Alignment when Noah died, December 6, 2020.)
At Creation, the planets aligned in the constellation of Virgo (“The Women”) and in Cetus (“The Sea Monster”), the same symbolism found in Revelation 12-13.
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.
5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
Although we presently lack perfect astronomical knowledge as to the position of the sun, moon, and stars at creation, (dated according to a literal interpretation of the Bible), such as the exact position of solar eclipses, yet there remains sufficient certainty to recognize that the same symbolism as found in the Book of Revelation was then portrayed in the heavens. This appears to include all of the Book of Revelation and not just chapter 12.
For example, the position of the sun, moon, and stars at creation also portrays Rev. 13 in combination with the prophecy of Genesis 3:14,15. And while the astronomical imagery is not always identical, the similarities are striking, especially when related scriptures are taking into account. (After all, the Book of Revelation is itself a compilation of Old Testament imagery.)
The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea… All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world. Rev 13:1,8
So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,
“Cursed are you above all livestock
and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.” (Gen. 3:14,15)
When was the Creation?
Before we begin, the date for creation according to the plain reading of the Bible must be established. Fortunately, this is a simple task. Evangelical scholars now generally accept 1446 BC as the date of the Exodus from Egypt. For 30 years I have also used this date in hundreds of articles. It’s likely the same date used in the notes in your own Bible.
From 1446 BC it is a simple matter to count backward to Creation according to the plain meaning of the Bible. The straightforward date of Creation is the spring of 4114 BC.
The difficulty comes when one combines the New Testament into what would otherwise have been a straightforward chronology. This post does not explain the workings of biblical chronology, which has been discussed many times already. Instead, I passionately ask the “why” question, rather than the “when” question. Why are there several different legitimate approaches to ascertaining the date of Creation? Why would God allow several possibilities? Is He the author of confusion or harmony?
I have always held an eclectic position. What I mean by this is, rather than attempting to find out the “correct date” or “actual date” of creation, instead, allow the Bible to speak for itself. If scripture leads to more than one answer –to more than one date for Creation — so be it!
If we take this approach, a harmony emerges that is far greater than the adoption of any single date for the creation. The whole is greater than its parts, and two or three witnesses to the Messiah are better than one.
How can there be multiple dates for the Creation?
In the earlier post, I explain how the extremely rare alignment of planets in 1953/1951 BC coincides with the death of Noah and the birth of Abraham. The date is based upon the “430 years” spent in Egypt AND Canaan, which is the reading of the SP, and perhaps the LXX and New Testament. About half of chronologers go this route, as did Bishop Usher, for example. The other half of chronologers simply take your Old Testament Bible as is. (Your Bible is based upon the Hebrew Massoretic Text, “MT”).
“The time that the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years.” Exodus 12:40
However, by adding to this verse the extra word, “and-Canaan”, the effect is to cut the span of “430 years in Egypt” symmetrically in half, ie., 215 years.
But which is correct?
Was Israel 215 or 430 years in Egypt?
And the battle between views continues and will continue until we realize that our God is One — One in the sense of Union, the perfect union of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. His creation exhibits this great truth, as does Bible chronology.
At this point, my heart breaks. I weep. I spent 30 years writing hundreds of articles proving that the date of creation is not one or the other, it’s both. But men love to champion sides, not realizing that they are fighting themselves.
The root of the problem is a failure to understand the purpose of the Biblical chronology. It was never about ascertaining what year was the creation. It has always been about the Creator, about Christ. It reveals Jesus, and then to a much lesser extent about ‘how’ He created, and still less, ‘when’.
The New Testament writers understood this. That’s why, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Matthew and Luke left out or added names (such as Kenan) in the chronology of Christ in order to encode truth. Truth is based in fact but is far more than the sum of them. According to Luke, Jesus is the 77th ancestor from Adam, “the Son of God”, but according to Matthew, there are 40 generations from Abraham to Christ, etc. Now that means something! “77” (and 70 from Enoch), and “40” — are recurrent symbolic numbers found throughout the Bible.
Moreover, one genealogy moves forward in time, from the beginning to the end, but the other in reverse order. That, too, reveals something, (Rev. 22:13). The testimonies of Matthew and Luke about Christ complete each other. Their genealogies are harmonious in two ways: they blend well numerically, and both point to Christ.
The approach of Mathew and Luke is the same as the rest of the Bible.
IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!
It’s not a dry scientific textbook.
Stop limiting God by the norms of western civilization!
There are a number of points in time that God draws our attention to as figurative of the Creation. But none of them is the actual date of creation. The Bible is not meant to tell us that. That’s not the objective. The question we should ask is:
How does this or that date for the creation (or the Flood, etc.) point to Christ?
If you ask this question, and only this question, and refuse to bark up the wrong tree, that’s when you see the burning bush!
See! The bush burns and does not go out!
The revelation of Jesus Christ in the numeric of the Bible is higher than any summit and deeper than any bottom; it’s broader than any horizon. It describes a place and time but is not bound by either.
The heavenly constellations bow down at His feet
Heaven and earth are in agreement, they bow before Him.
God has the power to conforms all things to His will. His will is that His Son is declared by all of creation, things seen and unseen — every atom, every cell, every word ever spoken. All things turn and bow at His feet, the sun moon, and stars — including every word spoken against Him, so great is His power.
The constellations in the heavens, so perverted by the pagans, God uses. Their attempt to dethrone Him provokes laughter in heaven! They have no real power. God outwits His enemies ten-thousand chess moves in advance. They are but fuel for the fire, a sink to wash the hands of the saints in, pharaohs to display His power by.
Wake up, saints! Rise and sit enthroned where Christ is. All things are yours. See from His perspective. This is the true role of prophetic ministry — to cause others to see things as they really are.
Your God reigns!
Brethren, this present world — this present chaos — is just a temporary arena wherein God demonstrates His power to beings great and small, visible and invisible. “It is finished!” God rolls up the heavens like a scroll. Then there will be a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness. Until then, watch and pray, and give Him glory!
The heavens declare the glory of God! (Psalm 19; )

Some verses about constellations and astronomical signs
Astrology robs God of His glory and misdirects it, turning glory into shame. However, the heavens declare the glory of Jesus and His Father will not share His glory with false gods, nor with men. Jesus is the Glory of God, and only “in Him” are His followers glorified.
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
Who makes the Bear, Orion and the Pleiades,
And the chambers of the south;
“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades,
Or loose the cords of Orion?
He who made the Pleiades and Orion
And changes deep darkness into morning,
Who also darkens day into night…
For the stars of heaven and their constellations
Will not flash forth their light;
The sun will be dark when it rises
And the moon will not shed its light.
Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. 17 God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
`There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And there will be much trouble for the people on earth. They will not know what to do. It will be like the sound of big waves of the sea.
Men will be weak with fear. They will be afraid of the things that will be happening to the world. The powers in the sky will be shaken.
